The Bishop of Burnley, Rt Revd Phillip North will Institute and the Archdeacon of Blackburn, The Ven Mark Ireland will Induct the  Revd Canon Mark Soady as our Rector on the Feast of St Matthew (September 21st).

Commenting on the news Tarleton Church warden, Neil Hodgkins said:

The events of the last few months have left us all struggling to find a ‘new normal’, not least within our church communities. It has had a particular impact on Fr Mark who arrived in our parishes at the beginning of lockdown which, as you know, caused his planned induction to be postponed and, whilst he has been licensed as priest-in-charge, his full installation remains incomplete. So it is very pleasing to confirm that this will now take place on Monday, 21st September.

As gatherings in places of worship are still limited, it has been decided that two services will be held to maximise attendance within the benefice. The first service will be held at St. Mary’s, Rufford at 6.00pm , when the legal proceedings will take place; and a second one at Holy Trinity, Tarleton at 7.30pm.  Sadly attendance at the service is limited to PCC Members and diocesan and community officials, due to the Covid-19 restrictions.

The Service at Holy Trinity Church will be recorded and streamed as our Sunday worship on our Parish Facebook page at 10.30am the following Sunday, September 27th.
