Heritage Open Days: St Mary’s old church Tarleton open

St Mary’s Church, Windgate Lane, Tarleton will be open to visitors between 10am – 3pm on Thursday, September 17th as part of Heritage Open Days.

The day will include The Churches Conservation Trust Hidden Nature Trail and Online Quiz.

A new church was built in the village in the Victorian era, so this building was then used only occasionally and so has escaped the normal process of reshaping and modification. The church was formally declared redundant in 1968 and vested in The Churches Conservation Trust in 1982.

Fr Mark served in the Royal Army Chaplain’s Department from 1998- 2012 and until 2017 was Chairman of Trustees of the Welsh Warrior: Richard Hunt Foundation, which cares for veterans. As Secretary to the Committee of Anglican Religious Communities in England, he also works with all nuns, monks and friars throughout the Church of England
