Patronal Festival weekend: June 14/15th

On the weekend of the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity, the Patronal Festival of Holy Trinity, Tarleton we have a weekend of celebrations in the village.

Patronal Festival Sunday, June 15th

On Sunday at 10.45am Solemn Mass the Preacher will be Fr Ben Eadon CMP Shrine Administrator of the Shrine of our Lady of Walsingham.

Prior to taking up his appointment at Walsingham last Autumn, he was Vicar of St Bartholomew’s and St Paul’s Brighton.

Ecumenical Walk of Witness, June 14th

On the Eve of the Patronal Festival we join other churches in Tarleton for a Walk of Witness through the village. The walks starts in the grounds of Holy Trinity Church School with a short Act of Worship, and concludes with Tea and Games in the school and grounds. After the walk there will be Maypole and Display on the school field.

The Route

On Friday evening and Saturday Silcocks Fair will ‘be in town’ in Mark Square Car Park as part of the celebrations.

Fr Mark was appointed as Rector of Rufford and Tarleton in April 2020, just as the COVID-19 pandemic took hold throughout the world. Previously, Mark was Area Dean and Vicar of Abergavenny & Rector of Llanwenarth Citra. Additionally, Mark was a Psychiatric Nurse and Founder/Prior of the Hollywell Community. Prior to Ordination, he was Head of Office to Rt Hon Lord Jenkins of Hillhead OM; and later worked for the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (an arm of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office) on democratisation programmes. Fr Mark served in the Royal Army Chaplain’s Department from 1998- 2012 and until 2017 was Chairman of Trustees of the Welsh Warrior: Richard Hunt Foundation, which cares for veterans. As Secretary to the Committee of Anglican Religious Communities in England, he also works with all nuns, monks and friars throughout the Church of England
