We are excited to announce that we have appointed Hattie Boak as our Youth Co-ordinator.
Fr Mark Writes “Hattie brings with her a wealth of experience, having worked as an Education Officer with Lancashire Wildlife Trust, a Park Ranger with Blackpool Council, and an Engagement Officer with Norfolk Wildlife Trust. Most recently, she was a Teaching Assistant in a Church School. She also currently leads her local Squirrels group.
We are very blessed to have been able to appoint Hattie to this role, coming as she does with a wide range of experience. Our appointment of a full-time Youth Co-ordinator shows the commitment we, as parishes, have to engaging with young people and children”.
Hattie is the first of 30 Diocesan Ignite Youth Workers to be appointed.
The Ignite Project is about making Jesus known and equipping the local church to fulfil the Diocese of Blackburn’s ambitious vision to more than double the numbers of children and young people engaged in active discipleship to Jesus. Over the next three years, 30 Ignite Leaders will be placed in parishes across the diocese to help grow youth and children’s ministry through Spirit-filled outreach, discipleship, and vibrant faith communities. Each leader will receive training, mentoring, and qualifications, forming a network committed to nurturing the faith of the next generation and embedding them into the life of the church.
She will take up her post on July 1st, subject to statutory checks.
