CHILDREN and their parents are invited to meet the donkey featuring in Rufford and Tarleton villages’ Palm Sunday parades on April 10th.
The donkey will be outside St Mary’s Church, Rufford from 8.50am to 9.25am on April 10 and will then be around Tarleton Holy Trinity Church grounds between 10.30am and 10.50am.
Members of the public are welcome to watch the parades and take advantage of this special photo opportunity.
Both parades will be followed by an all-age service in the respective churches, marking Jesus’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem on the back of a young donkey.
This service marks the start of the Holy Week Liturgy. For the details of other services see here.
In School Assembly at Holy Trinity Tarlerton during Passion Week, Fr Mark will be talking to the children about crosses. Note how donkeys have a cross on their back, a reminder that it was a donkey who took Jesus in to Jerusalem, his place of Crucifixion.
