Work on improved disabled access to St Mary’s Church, Rufford started on Monday, February 24th.

The works include improved disabled access to the West Door and installation of a disabled toilet.
We will increase the level of the path from the South gate to make the access the West Door level, also we will need to link up to the main sewer on Church Road.
Access to the Church during the works will be via the West gate and the South West door.
We are grateful to a number of grant giving bodies for helping with the funding for this work including the Church of England (£50,000), Number 1 Trust and the Laing Family Trusts, as well as local supporters. The main contractors are Rosslee and the work is being overseen by our Church Architect, Mike Darwell ( John Coward Architects Ltd ).

As a thank offering for our Disabled Loo at Rufford, we have twinned with a loo in South Sudan. Our Diocese is twinned with a Diocese in S. Sudan.
