Epiphany -tide Dedications for Year of Mission

At these Holy Eucharist we will join the rest of the Diocese in dedicating ourselves fully to the Diocesan Year of Mission.

This prayer will be used:

Heavenly Father

as the wise men offered gold, frankincense and myrrh,

so we make to you the gift of our lives

at the start of this Centenary year.

Through your spirit at work within us,

may many come to know you in your Son

and kneel to do him homage.

For you live and reign ever one God,

world without end.

Amen.

Tuesday, January 6th

7pm Holy Trinity, Tarleton: Solemn Mass

We will welcome the Magi and their gifts and Blessing Chalk to be used to mark our door lintels and pray for God’s blessing in our homes in 20026.

Use this prayer at home:

The Three Wise Men, Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar
       followed the star of God’s Son who became human
       two thousand and twenty-six years ago.
       May Christ bless our home
       and remain with us throughout this New Year.
       Amen.

Fr Mark was appointed as Rector of Rufford and Tarleton in April 2020, just as the COVID-19 pandemic took hold throughout the world. Previously, Mark was Area Dean and Vicar of Abergavenny & Rector of Llanwenarth Citra. Additionally, Mark was a Psychiatric Nurse and Founder/Prior of the Hollywell Community. Prior to Ordination, he was Head of Office to Rt Hon Lord Jenkins of Hillhead OM; and later worked for the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (an arm of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office) on democratisation programmes. Fr Mark served in the Royal Army Chaplain’s Department from 1998- 2012 and until 2017 was Chairman of Trustees of the Welsh Warrior: Richard Hunt Foundation, which cares for veterans. As Secretary to the Committee of Anglican Religious Communities in England, he also works with all nuns, monks and friars throughout the Church of England
